The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered ₦13 billion in stolen public funds from government coffers in September 2024. This announcement was made by the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, during the launch of the commission’s 2024-2028 Strategic Action Plan in Abuja.
Dr. Aliyu highlighted the commission's progress, emphasizing that this recovery was part of its broader effort to combat corruption in Nigeria. The ICPC also announced plans to introduce a specialized curriculum to improve the enforcement capacity of its personnel and ensure they have the skills necessary to tackle corruption effectively. Additionally, the ICPC is working on an initiative called EthicsPod, which aims to engage citizens and promote transparency across the country.
