The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has revealed that drugs and illicit substances were found at the residence of Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, representing Kwara South, during a raid earlier in 2024. According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the raid in Ilorin led to the arrest of two of the senator's aides. The agency also arrested another associate linked to the senator, Oluwatosin Odepidan, in 2023 for drug-related activities in Offa.
NDLEA stated that Senator Ashiru's recent accusations against the agency were fueled by personal vendetta due to these past encounters. Despite his claims of corruption within NDLEA, the agency affirmed its commitment to drug enforcement and dismissed his allegations as false.
