The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has taken a strong stance against Alex Ikwechegh, a federal lawmaker representing Aba North and South in the House of Representatives, following his alleged assault on a Bolt driver. A viral video shows Ikwechegh engaging in an altercation with the driver, who was reportedly delivering an item to the lawmaker's residence.
APGA, in a statement by National Publicity Secretary Mazi Ejimofor Opara, condemned the incident as a breach of the party’s values, which emphasize respect, human dignity, and integrity. As a response, the party has established a disciplinary committee to investigate the incident and has promised appropriate sanctions if Ikwechegh is found guilty. Opara urged party members and officials to maintain decorum, stressing that APGA will not tolerate behavior that contradicts its principles. This action highlights APGA’s commitment to accountability and ethical standards among its members.
