Nigerian artist Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, known as Blackface, has revealed his plans to bring back the legendary music group Plantashun Boiz in 2024.
The group, which initially featured Blackface, 2Baba (formerly Tuface), and Faze, played a pivotal role in shaping the Nigerian music landscape in the early 2000s.
During a recent conversation with media figure Daddy Freeze, Blackface shared that he is working on new music while also planning to revive the group's legacy.
He reminisced about the formation of Plantashun Boiz, recounting how he started the band with 2Baba before bringing Faze into the fold, despite initial resistance from 2Baba.
“I am the leader of Plantashun Boiz, not 2Baba. I brought 2Baba to the group,” Blackface declared, emphasizing his role as the driving force behind the band's creation.
He also explained that he coined the name Plantashun Boiz during his time as a farmer and chose to retain it after the group’s disbandment.
This announcement has sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are eager to see what the revival of the band will bring to the Nigerian music scene.
