APC leaders in Anambra State have publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu's appointment of Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu as a minister-designate, viewing it as an "anti-party" action. This criticism emerged from a stakeholders' meeting in Awka, where High Chief Bunty Onuigbo, the APC's South East Zonal Secretary, voiced concerns over what he described as a disregard for party loyalty.
Onuigbo argued that appointing a member associated with a rival party—APGA—demoralizes APC members in Anambra. He questioned if this move would push APC members toward defection to APGA and criticized APGA for monopolizing state resources for its members.
In other political news, Chidi Chidebe, a former PDP youth leader, won the PDP Anambra state chairmanship election, pledging to unify and reconcile the party’s aggrieved members.
