At the recent Christmas Carol and Nine Lessons event organized by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, took the opportunity to praise the efforts and achievements of two prominent figures in Nigerian politics,President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu. Ojelabi emphasized the significant progress made under their leadership, despite the economic and political challenges the country has faced in 2024.
The event, titled Christ In You, Hope of Glory, was held at the APC secretariat in Ogba, Lagos, where Ojelabi spoke candidly about the impact of the leadership of both Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu. He noted that the party needed to thank God for the efforts made by the president to revamp the nation’s economy and the governor’s ongoing achievements in Lagos. These flag bearers of our party are doing wonderfully well, Ojelabi remarked, underscoring the positive contributions they have made to the country and the state.
While acknowledging that Nigeria still faces significant challenges, especially in the wake of economic difficulties and political unrest, Ojelabi expressed optimism about the future. He assured party members and attendees that, with President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment, the nation would see improvements in 2025. Things will get better in 2025, he said, highlighting Tinubu's dedication to repositioning the country and setting it on the path of development.
Ojelabi’s comments came amid widespread concerns over Nigeria's economic state in 2024, a year marked by significant financial and political hurdles. Despite these struggles, he pointed to the stability that President Tinubu has been able to bring to the country, particularly through his economic reforms and political strategies aimed at stabilizing the nation.
The event served not only as a celebration of Christmas but also as an opportunity for the Lagos APC to reflect on the political journey of the past year. In his speech, Ojelabi reiterated the party’s belief in the leadership of Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, expressing confidence that the ongoing efforts to develop Nigeria and Lagos State would soon yield tangible results for the people.
As the party looks ahead to 2025, the message from Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi was clear: despite the challenges faced in 2024, the leadership of both President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu remains strong and committed to improving the country’s future.
