Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a grim warning for Nigeria in 2025. In a statement on Friday, Ayodele urged Nigerians to brace for severe economic hardship, predicting an increase in tariffs for essential services, including fuel, electricity, and telecommunications. He stated that unless the government takes corrective actions, the economy could collapse, potentially leading to widespread unrest and targeting of the wealthy and political figures by angry citizens.
Ayodele noted that the coming year may see further devaluation of the naira, which could drive states into debt despite federal allocations and the recent minimum wage hike. He suggested that the government focus on meaningful reforms, stressing that the time for "disturbing God with prayers" has passed and that only actionable solutions can address Nigeria’s economic issues.
