A 13-year-old girl from Poland, gave birth to a baby boy on a school trip in Zator, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, on May 15. The delivery occurred in a toilet at the accommodation center, and the newborn required immediate medical attention. The baby, weighing 3.2 kg, was taken to the University Children's Hospital in Kraków-Prokocim, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in serious condition. However, doctors were able to stabilize his condition, and he is now recovering. The hospital spokeswoman, Katarzyna Pokorna-Hryniszyn, stated that the child will remain in the ICU until he recovers or is picked up by a family member.
The school was unaware of the girl's advanced pregnancy, and the Commune Office in Sochaczew has initiated an investigation into the matter. The 15-year-old father, who lives nearby, had been in a relationship with the girl and often stayed at her house. Neighbors reported that his mother gave him a lot of freedom, treating him like an adult. The situation highlights concerns about teenage pregnancy and the need for support and awareness.
